Our Handmade Christmas Tree Skirt

Living the nomadic life for the last 5 years, we haven't had an actual tree or many decorations to speak of so we are so excited about our first "real" handmade Christmas which led me to attempt my hand at making our first tree skirt. I used the pattern from Lisa @ Crochetville but changed the color to suit the peppermint theme . I crocheted 5 white, 2 red, 5 white, 2 red, 5 white, 1 red.
It took alot longer than I estimated but the ripples are so adorable under our tree.
The peppermint candy I crocheted from a pattern on the Lion Brand website. They turn out pretty big but look wonderful on the tree. I used Red Heart Super Saver to make both the skirt and the peppermints which cost less than $9 and I still have plenty of yarn left over for peppermint candy gifts.
